Earlier in his career, Sunny was an M&A investment banker at Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Kaufman Hall, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he facilitated billions in global transactions. He also served as Interim Chief Financial Officer at Zccounting, a national technology accounting firm. Sunny holds FINRA Series 62, 63, and 79 licenses and earned a B.S.B. in Finance and Accounting from DePaul University in Chicago.

Charles is the Founder and CEO of Crave Global, the first end-to-end platform enabling international celebrities to monetize their fan bases across 1.5 billion Chinese consumers. He is also the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Extol Capital, a US-based growth equity firm investing in consumer-focused technology companies and accelerating their expansion into Asia.

 

A seasoned finance professional with over 20 years of experience, Charles has deep expertise across asset finance, private equity, M&A, and capital markets. He has successfully syndicated more than 100 cross-border deals totaling billions in transaction value throughout Korea, Japan, and China.

 

For over eight years, Charles served as Head of US at China Renaissance Group, where he led landmark fundraises for companies including ByteDance (TikTok), Meituan, Didi, Tencent Music, Alibaba, and JD.com. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Mirae Asset Securities, Lehman Brothers Korea, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, and Jardine Fleming. Born in Busan and raised in Boston, Charles holds a BA from Brandeis University.
